Lewis Hamilton wins his first Monaco Grand Prix!

"He said he wanted to win like Ayrton Senna, in the rain, destroying the opposition. Senna disciples might quibble about the early skirmish with a barrier, but that aside, even the great man would have to acknowledge that the gods were riding with Lewis Hamilton in Monaco. As a boy devout in his worship of Senna, Hamilton nurtured the idea that one day he would do as his hero did, prove himself on the most treacherous stretch of asphalt on the grand prix calendar." - Telegraph

On a day when the likes of Tarantino, P. Diddy & the Pussycat Doll appeared on the illustrious Monaco Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton did the unthinkable, winning a grand prix from third place. The Monaco Grand Prix, with its sleek and narrow course, is a difficult place to win when you're not on pole. So when Lewis's tyre hit the barrier in the 6th lap thus forcing him to pit... the odds of him winning was washing away with the rain. So the Mclaren did the unthinkable, with the advice of weather forecasters who told the Mclaren pitwall that the rain would ease, Lewis was put on a one-fuel strategy for the remaining of the race.

Fate was playing its part. With lady luck also on his side, Lewis' strategy paid off as Kimi was forced into a drive-through penalty for not fitting his tyres properly while Massa had a two-stops strategy. So there you go, one of the prestigious automobile races in the world along with the Indy 500 and Le Mans 24 Hours (yes they drive around a track for 24 hours!) has just finished with Lewis Hamilton's first ever win at Monaco, now he just needs 5 more to equal the great Ayrton Senna.

Did you know? The event is so glamorous that in 2005, George Lucas sponsored the Red Bull Racing team in conjunction with the theatrical release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The pit crew were dressed as the Stormtroopers while Darth Vader himself became the 'lollipop man' LOL

Wow! That is cool! I didn't know that George Lucas was on to it. I guess that is why they made a racing scene (POD racing) in Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

May the Force be with you! (hell with Star Trekk.. hehehe)...
