Hey i remember you!

I was watching the sensational comeback from Turkey who were 2-0 down with 15 mins to go and went on to win 3-2 with minutes to go. Never have i seen a sensational match like that, not even the 2000 Italy-France final. Anyway that was not the purpose of this post, i was watching it and on came a familiar face in the second half. A player who many of you out there did not know that he once played for clubs like Bury and Sheffield Utd. A player who scored against the likes of Bolton and Chelsea, the former in the BPL, the latter in last season's Champions League. It was my old pal (well not exactly a pal of mine but i assume he has no friends so i thought i could be his pal)... his name is Colin Kazim-Richards. Whhhaaaaaaaa???? Yes i know. You have no idea who he is.

Here he is playing against Deco at Euro 2008

He's currently playing for Fenerbahce and he actually scored in the quarter-final first leg against Chelsea last season, and he scored that fantastic goal against Bolton in the 06-07 BPL season... and that was about it basically LOL He is an English-borned Turkish footballer whose father is of Antiguan descent, while his mother is Turkish Cypriot.

I remembered he used to come out after any of Sheffield Utd's game and started to look for fans to sign autographs to (not the other way around). I remembered the day he scored against Bolton, he suddenly went out of the stadium using the Away players route, trying to get fans to get his autograph. Yes, he is a sad bloke. I remembered bumping into him at the city of Sheffield with no one and i mean no one actually recognising him as a Sheffield Utd player. Yes it's that sad.

But in June 2007, he signed a four-year deal with Turkish club Fenerbahce and he went on to score his first Champions league goal in the quarter final first leg against Chelsea. He then received his first senior international cap in a 0-0 friendly draw against Brazil in 2007, yes he played against Brazil... and you've guessed it, he's a member of the Turkish Euro 2008 squad. I bet he's smiling in Austria-Switzerland now, thinking... 'Who's laughing now! Anyone wanting my autograph now? Hah! Bunch of bastards!'

I proudly can say that i have your autograph Colin! All the best of luck in the Euro 2008 quarter finals against Croatia...... MY PAL! LOL

See i have your autograph Kazim Kazim!

Proof that he actually signed it! hehehe

Barclays Premier League 08/09 fixtures are out!

The 2008/2009 BPL fixtures was out today and boy it looks tasty for Liverpool. Our first match is away against Sunderland, while the other big 3 have easy home matches such as Man Utd vs Newcastle Utd, Chelsea vs Portsmouth and Arsenal vs West Brom. When was the last time we ever played at home on the opening day? NEVER.... conspiracy i tell you! Anyway Man Utd's last game of the season is against Arsenal, so my guess is Liverpool's gonna win the BPL after 19 years of waiting... 19th title after 19 years of waiting, fate is on our side! .... and also David Villa, of course LOL

Spain ran riot in Innsbruck

Whaaa hey hey hey.... Spain won 4-1 last night, all thanks to a hat-trick by David Villa. Managed to catch the 2nd half of that match and boy Spain was THAT good. I'm drooling now at the prospect of a Villa-Torres partnership (God please let it be true) at Liverpool, can you imagine that? I can! Coz i watched it during Spain's game against Russia last night. The fluidity, pace and panache of Spain's attacking was just breathtaking! However, i have this funny feeling that they are peaking too early, remember Argentina at the last World Cup... 6-0 against Serbia was it? And then they bowed out. Let's all wait and see how far Spain can go from here... it all depends on the Torres-Villa partnership.

Btw how good was Holland the other night? The midfield of Van der Vaart, Sneijder, Engelaar and de Jong was just absolutely phenomenal! To think that Robben wasn't even playing... they might go far I tell ya!
